Week Calendar Review

Week Calendar for iPhone is a colour-coded and feature-packed way to manage your month

With a fresh look for iOS 7, Week Calendar may be one entry in a crowded field, but for power users it is right up there on the must-have list. It takes a while to learn, given the number of features it contains, but sticking with it proves to be highly rewarding.

While it is annoying that you have to pay twice over if you want both the iPhone and the iPad versions, being able to integrate your contacts and existing calendar gets you off to a good start. You can then integrate events from Facebook, pay for the inclusion of externally produced calendars ranging from football fixtures to bank holidays (it doesn’t tell you in-app how much this will cost though!) and share events via AirDrop, email, SMS, other apps and, of course, social networks.

Adding events is simple and yet comprehensive. You can set ten alerts for each one, select any kind of repetition, customise the associated colour and choose the calendar in which you want it to appear. URLs and notes can also be added for extra convenience.

Week Calendar can also work out how long it will take you to travel to a location and moving events around is as easy as dragging and dropping them. Power users can also take advantage of the templates that let you input reoccurring information, cutting down the set-up time for an event. It’s just fantastic.

Rated 4 out of 5

A highly advanced, great-looking app that appears to have every single base covered, except for cross-device optimisation.
