Track your expenses quickly and easily with this money management app

If your default setting for money management is to bury your head in the sand, then this app will gently coax you out of blissful ignorance and install an element of organisation in your life. Unlike a lot of finance apps on the market, Sumptus – Personal Expense Tracker isn’t complicated to use – trust us, there’s nothing to be scared of here.

Creating a new budget is easy – you simply name it, set the currency and your spending limit over a specified period of time and then save it. You can set up as many different budgets as you like and they will be listed alphabetically on the main Budgets screen. When it comes to entering expenses, tap the ‘+’ icon to enter an outgoing figure and then assign a category via the series of icons (you can make new ones if the right one isn’t there). Then tap Save and your expense will be logged. To help you keep track of what you have spent and what you have remaining, you can tap on the pie-chart icon for an instant visual representation on where you stand financially.

The interface is clean and uncomplicated with a slide-out menu that lets you view your budgets, edit categories and set limits. Icons at the bottom of the screen let you create new budgets, view pie-charts and export your budgets to HTML and CSV formats. There is also a calendar to help you view your expenses for a selected time period and you can also compare expenses during the previous months with the current one. The calendar can be used to enter backdated expenses so no pennies are unaccounted for.

Apps like this tend to live or die by their simplicity and accessibility and Sumptus more than justifies the modest cost outlay by providing an easy-to-use interface and a robust system for tracking your cash.
