Stratus could be the only Cloud service you ever need

Cloud services are numerous, and choosing the right one for you will depend on a number of factors, such as the price, interface and device compatibility. Stratus links directly to the CloudApp service.

The service is free, as is the app for ten uploads a day up to 25MB each, but you can pay $45 a year for unlimited uploads and the ability to use a custom domain. The files can be made available publicly or held securely depending on your needs, meaning that it has just as much to offer you at home as it does at work.

Crucially, an account can be viewed via any web browser, which gives the service universal compatibility, but the Stratus app makes everything look ten times better. The interface is as clean as you could hope for, and consists of only two windows; a folder list and a panel showing the selected content. The use of the clipboard lets you upload almost any file or text snippet. However, we did experience some reliability issues during our time with it.

Since our test there has been an update that promises improved stability as well as some other welcome tweaks. With that in mind and given the fact that it remains free this really is an excellent app for those looking to make use of CloudApp.

Rated 4 out of 5

An excellent app to access the CloudApp service that’s easy to use and understand regardless of your previous Cloud experience.
