I, Partridge: We Need To Talk About Alan

Get to know the real Alan Partridge by visiting his study

A cleverly designed app, taking most of its anecdotal content directly from the full audiobook, there are more than enough humourous clips from Alan to persuade you to buy his autobiography.

The premise of the app is to give you a peak into Alan’s writing room and see what makes him tick, with a collection of his notes and samples of his CD collection for users to go through. The interface is also very engaging, with the main screen being swipe-based, and the interactive icons standing out against a background of Partridge-centric products. The dictaphone screen is a nice feature, with the clips of Alan’s inner thoughts and stories played out, complete with moving tape animations.

Not only are there references to the TV show, but real CD spines have been used on the tracks, which are linked to the iTunes store.

On reflection, this is more a preview version of the book of the same name than anything else, but it doesn’t stop it being worth downloading.

Rated 4 out of 5

Nicely put together, and with some good content that is guaranteed to keep Partridge devotees amused.
