Slackers beware, Carrot is coming for you

CARROT is a novel take on the ever-expanding world of to-do list apps, adding some much-needed personality to an app that forces you to be more productive by keeping it happy. Looking like a cross between Clear and HAL 9000, CARROT awards you a varying number of points for every time you clear an item from your to-do list. The points you earn translate into levels and a ect the mood that CARROT is in. Keeping CARROT happy isn’t just about ticking of your to-dos, though, it’s also about staying constantly productive. Leaving too long a gap between completed items will send CARROT into a bad mood and you’ll soon  nd yourself compelled to be more productive in order to make the app happier again. It’s a bizarre concept, but once you get involved, the emotional element of the app really does help you become more productive. Sure, you can cheat the system and create nonsense tasks, but the emotional attachment you end up having here prevents you from taking shortcuts.

Once you’ve completed tasks, CARROT rewards you with humour and mini-games depending on what level you’re on. It’s beautifully produces and incredibly well-written and, while it might not be for power users, it’ll undoubtedly leave you a lot more productive or at least feeling guilty if you’re not. Grab this app, you won’t regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5

CARROT’s combination of humour, emotion and tasks is an odd yet entirely winning formula.
