CARROT Fit – Talking Weight Tracker Review
Like a sadistic Siri, Carrot Fit is an AI that will shame you into losing weight
Virtual personal assistants are certainly very much in vogue at the moment. Siri is now part of popular culture, and even Hollywood is writing movies about them. However, not all of them are designed to be friendly and docile; Carrot is from a different breed.
For those not familiar with the acid-tongued assistant, Carrot is already available as a reminders app that turns on you should you not hit your targets, and an alarm clock that will punish you when you oversleep. The same principle has now been applied to a fitness app, with Carrot serving as your menacing personal trainer.
The setup is very straightforward; all you have to do is enter your weight details. Carrot will then come back to you at the same time each day and ask you to enter your weight. Rewards and praise are handed out should you manage to shave anything off, but put any on and Carrot will turn on you.
It’s a clever way of helping you along with a weight loss programme, and there is a novelty to it that might just keep you coming back. The price might bother some given that this is an app you will only use once a day for a short time, but if this is the app that pushes you towards a healthier lifestyle then it will have been worth it. If tough love is what works for you, then Carrot Fit might just be the way forward when it comes to shedding a few pounds.
Clever follow-up to the reminders app that gets mean if you don’t hit your goals – which is perfect for fitness training.
