Facetune, Journey to Hell, Opera Browser Beta, Devil’s Plantation and Sonic Dash feature in our best apps

Facetune

This app is making quite a splash among iOS users thanks to it's impressive array of editing features that makes portrait photo retouching easier than ever before. Users talk of this being the end of unsightly images of yourself popping up on Facebook because of this app. We can only hope.

Journey to Hell

There are plenty of great looking games around, but Journey to Hell stands out for the amount of bad guys that can fill your screen without slowing things down (up to 40). There's also the original soundtrack from heavy metal band The Slaughters. It all feels very demonic, which is just the way it should be.

Opera browser beta

Another app with plenty of excitement around it, Opera browser beta looks to be the fastest browser on Android with near instant web page loads, and the Speed Dial section at the front end is a great way of bookmarking your favourite sites. Users can also use the Discover section to track the latest news. This is a big step forward in browsing on Android.

Devil's Plantation

This is the latest in a growing line of apps that are trying to provide as much of an 'experience' as a story. Devil's Plantation is made up of 66 films within a really interesting looking interface that intertwines two separate life stories as they collide into one another. If you want something a little outside of the box, this is for you.

Sonic Dash

The icon that is Sonic the Hedgehog now has is very own 3D endless running game. His name might just be big enough to take on the likes of Temple Run, and with all the trademark Sonic abilities and gold rings to collect there is a lot to get excited about, and draw in nostalgics and new players.
