Snapguide

Snapguide is a beautifully designed app that allows you to view hundreds of different how-to guides on varying subjects, and create your own to share. Snapguide’s community (although only made up of iPhone users) is huge, and the topics covered in the guides within the app are vast. Each guide follows a step-by-step process that is easily navigated by swiping left to advance and right to go back. Steps in a guide can include videos, photos or plain text depending on the complexity of what’s being taught.

When you first fire up the app, you’ll be asked to create an account using either Facebook, Twitter or your email address. This adds you to the community and works in very much the same way as services like Tumblr and Instagram do, allowing you to follow users whose guides you find interesting and message them for further advice.

As far as the app goes though, it really comes into its own when you create your own guides. Its slick and simple interface makes the whole process incredibly seamless and easy to do. There’s full integration with your iPhone’s camera for shooting stills and video, and it’s more than possible to create a guide in a few minutes depending on the complexity of what you’re doing. This really is one extremely useful app.
